First, pour the Red Candy Melts into the Candy Melting Pot.
Melt them while continuously stirring with a silicone spatula.
Next, position a piping bag inside a tall glass, and grab a piping bag tie.
Then, carefully pour the melted red chocolate into the piping bag.
Afterward, remove any air bubbles from the bag and close it off with the bag tie.
Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slide the heart template under the parchment paper.
Cut ⅛ inch (or more, if needed) from the tip of the chocolate bag. Trace the hearts on the parchment paper with the red chocolate.
Lastly, put the tray of hearts in the fridge to chill for 10 minutes.
Notes
Storing Chocolate HeartsTo store homemade chocolate hearts: transfer the hardened candies to an airtight container, in between layers of wax paper to keep them from breaking or sticking together. Store them either in the fridge for 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Always mark the date on the outside of the container to keep up with freshness.
